As I shared on social media moments ago, we are in the middle of another Microsoft outage regarding its online products and services, which were reported to be intermittently unavailable last night and much of this morning.
I haven’t noticed Microsoft’s products/services being intermittently unavailable.
But, then again, I use the beautiful, free, and opensource threesome of (1) Linux operating system, (2) BetterBird email client, and (3) LibreOffice office applications.
In a comment to my post, I shared some references for the software that I use:
All free and opensource software (Internet not required to use!):
- Operating System: MX Linux or Linux Mint (itsfoss.com/best-linux-distributions/) instead of Apple or Microsoft.
- Email: BetterBird (betterbird.eu), a fine-tuned version of Mozilla Thunderbird.
- Office applications: LibreOffice (libreoffice.org) instead of Microsoft’s Excel/Word/Powerpoint/Collaboration.

People on X across the globe have been reporting the outages, especially with Microsoft’s online/cloud email, Outlook.
Outlook down? Microsoft say everything is fine (with a broken image). I get a 503 error…

Thanks a lot, Microsoft, leading into this Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Lol.
