RIP President Jimmy Carter

This post recognizes the passing of former president Jimmy Carter and brings awareness to the meaning of the Christian Jerusalem Cross that was used at his funeral service at the Washington National Cathedral.

Rest in peace (RIP) president Jimmy Carter (01 Oct. 1924 – 29 Dec. 2024), a humble man of service. The former president’s funeral was held yesterday, according to his funeral program.

Christian Jerusalem Cross

On the program’s cover is a Christian Jerusalem Cross (or Protestant Episcopal Church Service Cross, etc.).

The Christian Jerusalem Cross is symbolic of the Five Holy Wounds of Jesus on the cross: two on the feet; two on the hands; one in his side torso.

Tattoos of Pete Hegseth

By the way, the cross is just one of several tattoos symbolizing religious faith and service that Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth has on his body.

Also, interestingly, part of the floor of the Washington National Cathedral, where Jimmy Carter’s funeral was held includes a Christian Jerusalem Cross:

Unsubstantiated Claims

I mention this because there have been controversy, lies, and unsubstantiated claims stirred up by low integrity people.

One such person is Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren, Democrat US Senator from Massachusettsthe same woman who lied about being an indigenous American Indian so she could fraudulently obtain financial scholarships1This alone would have disqualified her from holding any public office in a functioning Republic, not to mention possible prison time for defrauding taxpayers and organizations. and gain entrance into colleges, law school, and high-paying jobs. She and others essentially slandered Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth by suggesting some of his tattoos, such as the Christian Jerusalem Cross, are symbols of Nazism (a leftist/socialist idealogy) and radical far right ideologies (whatever this means), and, as such, represent his character accordingly.

To me, this sounds a lot like anti-Christian, anti-competent white male bigotry. Basically, “they hate us, because they ain’t us,” as Lou Holtz, former head coach of Notre Dame, so eloquently stated.

And, by the way, don’t believe Pocahontas has found Jesus since her scamming ways in her youth. She and her ilk are still scamming people even now. For instance, she is using the fires in and near Los Angeles, California as an excuse to fund raise for the alleged money laundering operation ActBlue, a Democrat political action committee (PAC):

“Why exactly are Democrats trying to get people to donate relief funds through a partisan fundraising operation? Especially since that operation skims off 3.95 percent, and that’s assuming every single other dime ends up passing through untouched.”

RedState: “Wildfire ActBlue ‘Donation’ Scandal Explodes, Elizabeth Warren Implicated.”

Pocahontas and many others like her in political office, and otherwise, need to be sent to prison; ideally to a work-labor prison camp in our soon-to-be territory of Greenland.

Late Middle Age Crisis

As for me, I haven’t experienced a “middle age” crisis yet, at least I don’t think so, and I’m almost at the beginning of old age, or the September of my Years, as Frank Sinatra sang.

One day you turn around and it's summer
Next day you turn around and it's fall
And all the winters and the springs of a lifetime
Whatever happened to them all?

As a man who has always had the wandering ways
I keep looking back to yesterdays
'Til a long-forgotten love appears
And I find that I'm sighing softly as I near
September, the warm September of my years

I also don’t have any tattoos on my body. However, if I start showing off, say, one like this:

…then it could mean that I had a late mid-life crisis. Or, not.
